Old House and Occident Saloons part of the Front Street replica at Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City, Kansas. The replica of Front Street was built in 1958. It was built after Dodge City lost out on a shrine to the "Cowboy Capital of the World" to Oklahoma City. Boot Hill Museum was founded in 1947 as a Dodge City Jaycees community service project. The first building at the new museum was the Plains Museum. In 1958 a replica of historic Front Street was constructed. Several other buildings were moved to the two block museum over several decades. In 2008 it was named one of the 8 Wonders of Kansas History by the Kansas Samplers Foundation.
